Cannot update payment details for security reasons?

Who approved this, who tested this, was this some AI hack job?

You allow me to sign up and create a policy with a credit card, great, 100x safer than debit orders. You do not verify this card online allowing me to make a mistake with the expiry date.

You waste my time calling me saying the collection failed and you need to update it only to then tell me I need to provide bank details as you cannot update credit card detail over the phone, great very secure.

I go to your website, where I also cannot update the details only to be told by your Facebook support that you cannot update the details online for security reason (which idiot come up with this notion). SO literally the only secure wya to update payment details you have deemed insecure, and in turn providing no way to actually update said details without canceling and signing up a new policy and hopefully not making a mistake again cause you do not verify card details during signup.

You see how this is utterly idiotic?

You are aware that credit cards expire hey, like they have to be updated at some point in time, Why on earth would you consider it a feature to make updating payment details impossible, like how many developer, PM, QAs, designers, etc missed this crucial step?

If I cannot update my payment details in the next hour I am canceling my policy, if you call me about this I am canceling my policy, it is 2026, stop phoning me for stupid ****.

Good day Reme,

We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience you’ve experienced — we completely understand why this situation feels unacceptable, and we appreciate you taking the time to lay it out so clearly.

You’re absolutely right to expect a straightforward, secure way to update your payment details, especially with something as common as a credit card expiry. The current process you’ve described falls well short of that expectation, and we’re sorry for the time you’ve had to spend trying to resolve something that should be simple.

To address this immediately:

We are escalating your case as a priority so we can assist you without any phone calls and get your payment details securely updated as quickly as possible. A member of our senior support team will handle this directly via your preferred channel to avoid further delays or repeated steps.
In parallel, your feedback has been flagged to our product and technical teams. The points you’ve raised — particularly around card verification at signup and the inability to update card details securely online — are valid, and we take this seriously. This isn’t the experience we aim to provide, and it clearly needs to be improved.

For now, our focus is getting this resolved for you within your requested timeframe and without further frustration.

Again, we’re truly sorry for what you’ve experienced, and we appreciate your patience while we make this right.

Kind regards,
The Budget team
