Budget Scratch and Dent Incompetence and possible ****
I moved to Budget Insurance from the 1st of November 2018 and I am already regretting it.
I put on Scratch and Dent cover and was told the claim waiting period is 3 months, but if you do your vehicle inspection before the contract starts ( it started on 1 November 2018) there will be no waiting period. I took my car to Glasfit and they did the inspection on the 18th of October 2018. I even called Budget to confirm they got the Inspection Report on the same day and they confirmed.
Come the 3rd of November, I had a scratch on my car and tried to make a claim and they declined it on the basis that I am withing the 3 months waiting period. I then explained to them the terms that they gave me and that they said if the inspection was done before my contract started I don't have to wait for the waiting period. They the asked me to send the Inspection report which I did, though they already had it and said they will escalate it to their "Administrators".
This was on the 9th of November 2018 and I asked for the turnaround time and they said 48 hours. Nothing happened in 48 hours and I have since made 4 follows up as they don't update you on the progress and in each of those times I have to explain again that I am not supposed to wait as I did my vehicle inspection before the contract started.
Today I called again and had to go through the explanation again. They then said they will make a follow up with the Administrators and they didn't provide a turnaround time. Can this issue be resolved.
If a Scratch and Dent claim takes 11 days to be resolved, what more of a comprehensive claim!! They do not value their customers time and use Budget at your own Risk!
