BUDGET INSURANCE "WHERE YOUR PREMIUMS MATTERS THE MOST AND YOUR CLAIM IS NOT THEIR CONCERN"

BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE YOU SIGN A POLICY COVER FOR YOUR VEHICLE.

YOU MIGHT SAVE MONEY ON LOWER PREMIUMS BUT THE INSUARANCE WILL NOT PAYOUT WHEN YOU CLAIM.

RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION!

DO YOU WANT TO SAVE UP ON LOWER PREMIUMS OR DO YOU WANT PEACE OF MIND WHEN YOU MAKE A CLAIM?

CHOOSE THE INSUARANCE COMPANY THAT WILL CARE FOR YOU DURING THE UNFORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCE WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR VALAUBLE ASSETS.

My experience with Budget insurance during the claim process following my vehicle accident has been an absolute nightmare.

Budget Insurance has provided me with unsatisfactory service from the onset of submitting my claim. I have been victimized, treated with disrespect and have been accused of being under the influence of alcohol, being ********** and dishonest with no proof to support these allegations.

BUDGET INSURANCE TREAT CLIENTS LIKE ********* WHEN SUBMITTING A CLAIM

I cooperated with Budget Insurance to respond to them with the information they requested in a prompt manner:

They requested my cell phone records from my service provide to do beacon checks and vehicle tacking records. To determine my whereabouts before the accident which I provided.

My CLAIM was rejected due to the following reasons:

1.) I did not provide Budget Insurance with a true and complete information regarding my risk and the claim I have submitted was ********** and dishonest; 2.) I was under the influence of alcohol; 3.) The supporting documentation / information requested was not received within the prescribed 14 days

I was involved on a car accident on the 1st of May 2019 at Vanderbjlpark around 10pm. The road I was traveling on is uneven and there were further no street lights and I lost control of the vehicle and my car overturned. At the time of the accident I was travelling alone from Vanderbijlpark to Sasolburg. Budget Insurance have used a misleading questioning technique intentionally attempting to prove that I was being dishonest. The claims adjuster used a coercive technique every time I was interrogated and used a very aggressive tone without giving me the liberty to provide answers to her questions.

An example of this can be seen where the Insurer asked me where I was coming from to which I rep**** that I was returning from a sports event from Vanderbjlpark.

I confirm that I attended a sports function at the University and was there from 10h00 in the morning until late that evening. On my way home from the event I dropped a few friends off that live in that area and headed home. The road I was traveling on is uneven and there were further no street lights and I lost control of the vehicle. At the time of the accident I was travelling ALONE from Vanderbijlpark to Sasolburg.

This is the absolute truth.

I was however accused by Budget Insurance of lying and being dishonest as: I was interrogated about my whereabouts on various occasions. During the initial telephonic statement, I failed to mention that I had dropped off friends first before heading home.

I am of the opinion that mentioning that I dropped off friends at that time was irrelevant as it is neither here nor there. The question posed to me by Budget Insurance was where I was coming from to which I answered truthfully that I was returning from the University.

The sports event was at the University and my friends live at the University residence. I had left the University and returned to the University to drop off a friend and was on my way home.

The fact remains that I had spent the day at the sports event and was on my way from there. I was accused of being dishonest as I had initially not mentioned that I was dropping off friends but mentioned it later during other interrogations.

I was further accused of lying as Budget Insurance contend that I was not alone as I had dropped off friends. This contention is ludicrous. The fact remains that at the time of the accident I was in fact alone.

From the cell phone Budget Insurance requested they told me they can only determine my whereabouts until 5pm during the day of the accident as that’s the latest records the cell phone provider gave them. Furthermore, Budget Insurance mentioned that on the records that I was at Vanderbjlpark at 5pm but not at the University grounds therefore I **** and provided inaccurate information, this contention also does not make any logical sense because they have confirmed that I was at the university during their investigations it would be a different story if they could say I was at a different town.

During their investigation they proved that I was Vanderbjlpark at the university on the day of the accident and the cell phone records shows that for that given timestamp I was at Vanderbjlpark and the accident happened at Vanderbjlpark.

The insurer contends that they have requested information from me and that the information / documentation was not received within the prescribed 14 days. This allegation is vehemently denied as I corresponded to them in every possible way and for the entire 10 week period I provided the information to the budget insurance on the day it was requested.

Budget Insurance alleged that during their investigations the towing truck guys told them I was under the influence after the accident and I was unstable with a blurry speech which is ridiculous claim. I requested that they proof the allegation and the Insurer advised me that they had found alcohol bottles and spillage in the vehicle and that they have photographs of this.

I deny this allegation in its entirety. When requested to see the photographs I was advised that these cannot be provided to me as it is against company policy. For all intents and purposes, I confirm that there were no police and paramedics present at scene of the accident.

I informed Budget Insurance immediately about the accident. The vehicle was taken to Twin City Autocraft in Vanderbijlpark. I was not injured at the scene of the accident. I further confirm that the gentlemen from the tow truck stayed with me until my brother had arrived at the scene of the accident to ensure that I was safe. They did not call the police to attend to the scene of the accident. A reasonable person and more especially the Insurers “contracted towing company” would have called the police should they have suspected that I was under the influence before even towing the car.

After arriving home, I received a call from the Insurer to enquire if I had arrived home safely and the lady asked short details about the accident, she advised to report the accident at the police the following morning.

My claim dragged for more than 2 months without any resolution or communication from the insurance to provide me with feedback on the progress of the claim. I had to make calls and follow up emails for more than 10 weeks after the accident whilst still paying for my premiums and car instalments.

The claim did not make any progress and I had to escalate the complaint internally with Budget Insurance then the claim was finalized a week later. It was Budget Insurance best intend not to pay out my claim.

The ruling that they excised to not pay out my is based on assumptions with no credible evidence and is therefore *********. The customer service experience during the claims process is mentally and emotionally draining this is my worst life experience ever.

If you have read to this far you deserve a peace of mind and please make a wise decision when choosing your insurer.
