Budget Insurance try everything in the book not to pay a claim
On 28/01/2018,i submitted a claim re wooden flooring. An assesor was appointed.Al went smooth till after assesor left.Budget did not phone me and I had to phone on several occasions, and their reason was they are waiting for assesor report.Today,19/02/2018,I eventually could get hold of them. They admitted the claim, admitted that there was water damage on floor, but on a ceratain pirtion of the floor,Budget Insurance, will not pay the claim, because assesor in his report stated, that seeing there was a sliding,he thought, and not factually, that when it rained,we left the door open and rain fell on floor! This he said and not factually proofed ,notwithstanding the fact that it not not rain for twelve months in Jeffreysbay and that the sliding door was only installed in Dcember 2017.Furthermore an amount was admitted for the remainder of the floor. When I asked how did assesor determine amount,I was told assesor was also the supplier,in other words,he sold and installed the floors as well.Talking of judge and executioner in one. This is blatantly a method used by Budget Insurance to bully the public into accepting the sole word of an assesor and allowing assesor to do repair work.If need be I will refer this matter to the Ombudsman of Shortterm insurance based on the f@ct that Budget Insurance make use non factual matters, rain through sliding door,to not pay a claim or partial payment. Get your facts right Budget Insurance and stick to your policy wording.
