Budget Insurance is a **** - lets trend this company
Budget Insurance is a ****
My claim has been rejected with no any basis. On the 1st of September I insured my working heat pump to the maximum value of R30 000 with a full understanding that i have full piece of mind as this was assured to me as I was told if anything happens to heat pump i will be covered. Come October month, i started having an issue an issue with the heat pump and i lodged a claim and they sent their assessor and they open the heat pump and tried to troubleshoot and they couldnt detect anything. They went back to the company with assessment report and based on the consultant assigned to our claim say "Unfortunately, the report came back say unfortunately we are not covered on the item causing the heatpump not to work" which is a surprised to us because those guys didnt detect the cause of the issue. I then asked for call recordings as according to me i was told whether everything is covered on my heatpump. Same consultant promised to get back to me after listening to the recording and 3 days later she came back to me apologizing for the mistake made by the consultant who assisted me when taking the policy because she failed to tell me that maintenance related to electrical failure are not covered. I asked who's fault is that because there was assurance that everything is covered and she went ahead and say on my policy document(which they even failed to provide it to me) all exclusions were indicated. When visiting my policy online, I dont see policy docs showing all the exclusions but what i see is "Water Heating System" cover R30 000 premium of R108.
I asked for call recordings to be shared to me via email or any other form so we can listen the part where all the coverings were explained, same claim consultant only sent me a rejection letter defending her colleague. The fact that I claimed after a month which is a loss to them, they are trying to find a way not to pay and they expected me to add such item which they say it was not covered. I told them i am not going to pay any premium until they supply me with recording and any money i paid with a hope that i am covered should trend. I am going on Twitter now. Same questions were asked if ever we had an issue with heatpump and these were asked by the time logging a claim and i said no, they sent an assessor whom they repeated same questions even for whether was it caused by loadshedding and we said we dont know as we are not technicians. Dont ever use this company as they are running a **** as they dont wasnt to loose. I am cancelling all my other 3 policy i have with this company and that R1980 they used to take is the last one.

She apologised that because insuring a heat pump is a new thing in the industry, thats where the consusion came. I am a client and such mistake must be dealt with the initial consultant who made mistake.
Nevertheless your assessor did not detect the actual issue that caused the heatpump not to function, if it was covered, why are you not approving our claim? I asked for t&c to see exclusions but i have been provided with generic document which was never provided to me by the time taking policy which according to me its a trap.
T&c should be part of our actual policy document and no hidden agenda. I am sure you don't want this to trend further on Tweeter about hiding certain policy documents. How do you expect a customer to know t&c if they were not provided on the phone or being part of the policy document?
Still again on the generic policy document i don't see any clause that could lead to rejection of my claim. The rejection letter issued was not part of the heatpump covered but incorrectly issued for resultant made by geyser causing the damage and because i didnt claim for geyser, the claim captured was supposed to be for heatpump which is part of building cover. Until this issue is resolved, don't touch any money in my account. Giving you 24 hours for feedback
