Budget Insurance Dent & Scratches and Rim & Tyre Cover – A Disappointing Experience

I took out Dent & Scratches and Rim & Tyre cover from Budget Insurance in May 2023, just two months after purchasing my car. My experience with this insurance has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.

In January 2024, my car sustained a minor dent, and I submitted a claim. To my surprise, the claim was rejected because their service provider's quote was considered too high. This left me questioning the purpose of having this cover. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked them to cancel my policy, they persuaded me to stay by increasing my cover from R3000 to R5000. Reluctantly, I agreed, hoping this change would lead to better service.

Fast forward to today, 16 October 2024, I submitted a claim after my tyre was damaged while driving on 13 October. Once again, my claim was rejected, despite me never missing a premium – I have been paying R200 every month consistently.

To be honest, this cover is completely useless. It feels like a ****. I’ve had two legitimate claims rejected, and I’m left wondering what exactly I’ve been paying for. I would not recommend this cover to anyone looking for reliable insurance. Save your money and look elsewhere!
