Budget insurance cant take ownership and the lack of laziness within there departments
I would like to take this time to point out the ********** service received from budget insurance. From day 1, I have just been receiving conflicting information from them. About 7 months ago I was in a car accident. I did not intend on submitting any claim to the insurance, instead we fixed the car ourselves. Fast Forward 6 months and we receive a summons from the 3rd party wishing to claim against us.
I call budget and the consultant tells me I need to submit the summons to them via email, which I do. Two days later I call back to find out if it was received. This consultant tells me that we first need to submit a claim and only then submit the summons via email. After spending 30 minutes on the phone, the consultant tells me the claim was rejected due to it being submitted more than 60 days after the incident. I explain to this consultant that I am not claiming and it is a claim against me. She then gives me the contact number of the legal department.
I make contact with them, they advise they can see there is a claim captured and they have received the summons. It will now be allocated to a litigation consultant who will make contact. Few days later we received an email from Simone Naidoo, who confirm they will be dealing with the issue and will be making contact with the 3rd party. We then respond to Simone, asking if we should cancel our appointment with the law clinic, seeing as they are dealing with the issue. She confirms on email that yes we can cancel the appointment and yes they are dealing with the issue. She also confirms that due to the fact that the litigation process takes time, we can only expect feedback from them every 3 months.
Two weeks go by and we receive an email from Simone indicating that the claim had been rejected after she had confirmed that they would be dealing with the issue.
I call budget again to express my frustration as they had confirmed in writing that they would be assisting only to turnaround 2 weeks later and say sorry no we cant. I question the reason for the rejection, they indicate it is due to the fact that the claim was not submitted within 60 days of the accident. Yet again I have to explain it’s a 3rd party claim that we received 6 months after the fact. One of the agents informed me the that 3rd party has 3 years where they can claim and then transferred me to a manager in telesure department called Sunette Myburgh . She asked me to email her all correspondence so that she can take it up with the Business unit leaders which I still have not heard any response. I called in to speak to her yesterday the 03rd July only for them to inform me she is off on leave. They advised me a Vekash Ganas (manager) will call me . He called and asked me to email him the same documents. Only to provide me with the incorrect email address. I called him to confirm his email address but he did not answer my calls. It is day 14 and still no response. I am cancelling my insurance with Budget and taking this further.
