Budget does not want to payback my monthly car insurance premium after requesting for refund
I sold my car because it was giving me problems - it was a private sale. I called budget insurance to cancel car insurance and asked them to payback the remaining balance and they told me they payback after providing proof or agreement of sale.
Refund specialist said collections/finance will want proof that the car was sold - and I explained to her it was a private sale the only thing I have is a signed agreement of sale between myself and the buyer and she said that will be sufficient to process the refund, of which I sent immediately and she acknowledged and accepted is correct.
She later came back and requested natis documents to prove that the car is indeed sold to the person as shown on the agreement of sale I initially provided - fortunately the buyer had already changed the ownership of the car and he provider me with the copy of the natis document with the vehicle in his name ( 100% proof that the car no longer belongs to me) - but Budget Insurance still want more documents to process the refund
Now, 19 January 2026 Budget comes back and says they require De-registration or Enatis documents- but I already provided enough documents to prove that I sold the car and is no longer in my name.
It looks like Budget Insurance does not want to refund my money back - and I wanted to go back to budget insurance because I just bought another car, looks like I will have to take my business elsewhere.
