Budget cellphone insurance is a ****

I insured my phone for with budget insurance for R6000.00. When I needed to claim I was told that my phone was discontinued and a similar phone is worth R5 380.00. I was paid only R 3 530.00 after deducting access fee of R1 850.00

Over the the years the premium has been increasing as well as the access fee. My question is why would make me pay for R6000.00 cover if I can't claim the full amount.
