Beware of dent and scratch of Budget!

Budget is refusing to pay my claim as they are stating that I already claimed for the damages. This is on a dent-and-scratch cover, I did hower loged a claim, but never proceeded as I felt the damage was not that big. On Friday the 12th of March 2019, I was in a minor accident where the left vendor was scratched to the point that if impacted the look of the car.

I loged a claim, sent the pictures and was told to get a quote at my nearest RMI approved panel beater. They quoted the damage at R5875.00, the maximum claim amount is R5000.00 and the policy states that I am allowed to pay the difference up to R10000.00.

They are refusing to pay for they say I already claimed for the damage, even thought I never continued with the previous motion to claim as I stated above the damage was too minor (not even noticeable from a 2 meter distance). This is not the case now.....

I expect my insurer to pay when the unfortunate even of a scratch happens, but never in my life was I as shocked when I heard, they are rejcting the claim simply because I never followed thought on a previous claim, how utterly preposterous.

I would like the Ombudsman to investigate this please investigate this matter as I payed my premiums to budget insurance as expected on time without nonsense and I expect the same back from them, why else do I have insurance?

Please help me in this matter.

*Please note that what was said to me over the phone was that my claim was rejected due to the side of the vehicle I claimed for was already claimed for event thought I did not proceed with the claim, but the document attached is stating that the damages are too big, while the quote is in the claimable amount.
