Bad turnaround time and excessive excess

Budget Insurance wants an excess of R8000 for my car’s sunroof that shattered yesterday whilst driving back from work. The consultant says that’s amount the system is pulling. I asked her how come because with KingPrice last year I paid R750 for excess when my windscreen was damaged. I would understand the R8000 if this was a vehicle damage whereby I could not drive the vehicle or it was damaged to a point where it needs panel beating, however the body of the vehicle is fine it’s only the sunroof is damaged.

Also their turn around time is dissatisfactory as they told me they’ll only send me a WhatsApp on Monday for me to forward pics. This is a long time and my vehicle is exposed.
