Avoid Budget insurance. Business you cannot trust.

I've been with Budget Insurance since May 2021. In August 2023, after a major storm, the tenants at my rental property reported a leak. I filed a claim with Budget, but they rejected it. I have spent six months emailing them and the ombudsman because they rejected the claim due to alleged lack of maintenance. I spent R400,000 renovating and fixing up a property I bought by the beach during COVID.

In July, after the heaviest rains in 20 years, I filed another claim. Unbelievably, they rejected this one as well, citing wear and tear. Avoid Budget Insurance if you can. I've already advised my uncles and cousins, and they have found better insurance companies. Choosing Budget Insurance is a waste of money. They may be nice when selling you a policy, but they won't assist you financially when you need it.
