Dear Eddy,

The Insurer declined the cash agreement as they advised that all  clients are aware of the excess when the policy is taken.

Kind Regards,

Hello Mr Mahomane

Hollard Complaint Reference:HOL-206702-09 23
Date Received: 01 September 2023
Policy / Claim Number: /

We are sorry that your recent experience has led you to contact us with a complaint. The details of your experience will be carefully revised, and we will do our very best to resolve your complaint fairly.
Your complaint has been assigned to a dedicated member of our team. We will contact you within 5 days to let you know what progress has been made in addressing your complaint. We will advise you of the next steps and timelines in the process and will communicate regular updates to you until resolution.

If you have any new information about your complaint, please send an email to *** and include your complaint reference number. You may also contact us on *** if you want to discuss the details of your complaint.
While you may contact the Ombudsman at any time or take legal action within the time frame stipulated in your policy wording for any claim decision dispute, we would encourage you to please allow us the opportunity to resolve your complaint before using any of the complaint escalation options available to you.
Step 1: Complain to Hollard’s Internal Adjudicator
If you are still unhappy after you have asked us to review our decision, you may email Hollard’s Office of the Internal Adjudicator (OIA). The Internal Adjudicator will investigate your complaint objectively and independently.

Step 2: Complain to the Ombudsman
If you are still unhappy after following the steps above, you may send your complaint to the Ombudsman for Shortterm Insurance. However, it is important to note that once you have approached the Ombudsman, and a determination has been made, you can no longer approach Hollard or Hollard’s Internal Adjudicator.

Step 3: Take legal action
You may take legal action against us within 24 (twenty-four) months of the date that you received this letter or as stipulated in your policy wording. To take legal action, summons must be served on us. If this is not done in time, you will lose your right to claim and we will no longer be responsible for this claim. You may choose to take legal action against us without first asking us to review our claim decision, or without first contacting the Ombudsman for Short-term Insurance. However, if you take legal action against us before contacting the Ombudsman, you may only approach the Ombudsman for assistance after you have withdrawn the summons against us.
If you have any further queries regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us on ***.

Kind Regards
