Buckingham Place Guesthouse PE

We've booked and paid the deposit for accommodation from 29Dec'18 to 4Jan'19. When we arrived on the 29th we found the place not cleaned, that was after I phoned the owner 2 days before to confirm our booking and informing her of our approximate time of arrival. Furthermore, the place was in a bad state, 3x windowpanes were missing (this was broken or fell out a long time ago), the place was reaking of dirt and mould, a lot of stuff was held together with duct-tape and masking-tape, the back of the toilet was leaking badly, the timber deck has'nt seen a brush of preservative for many a year and the balustrades were unsafe, the pillows on the bed looked like it was picked up from a *******-dump, the bedding also had beter days a few years ago, the cane furniture on the stoep of the main house were dilapidated and the legs are missing/broken and held up by bricks and stones. The manager could not do much and we do not blame her, she tried to help us. The problem was with the owner, Paula, she did not want to come to the guesthouse or speek to us on the phone. She told us, through her manager, that she will refund us and that we must move on. She did not want to accept our offer to pay half the price. We offered this due to the time of the year and the short notice to get alternative accommodation. Just for the record we've driven from Bloemfontein on the 29th and from Piet Retief to Bloem the previous day. The photos of the guesthouse on the various travel-websites, Trip-Advisor and SA-Venues, shows beautiful rooms, bedding, etc., which is a mis-presentation. The booking was made through SA-Venues, which also did not gave an acceptable reply on our emails. We've asked them to phone us to discuss our problem, but did not. Our last email to them was unanswered. Please tell your users not to use these agents or this guesthouse. This is not the first and only, there's lots of these mis-presentations on these travel-websites.
