Shocking service from BT Games

The after sales service from BT Games is shocking! My 11 son bought a Giotek XH100 stereo Gaming Headset from BT Games for PS4. It worked for one day but thereafter it made loud crackling noises and feedback sounds so his friends couldn't hear him and didn't want to play with him. He has 2 PS4 controllers and had the same results on both controllers. Also, we have other headsets that work perfectly on the same controllers. When we returned them, after 1 week, for a refund or an upgrade they said that they need to send them in for testing. The following day they phoned us to say that they are fine and we can come and collect the same headphones. They are playing us for fools. Obviously we wouldn't be returning them if they worked! We should apparently just take their word for it that these are fine and accept that this is normal to hear loud scratchy noises in your ears. This is totally contrary to the consumer protection act. These ****** won't last much longer in business as all other retailers (including online merchants) are prepared to refund or exchange their faulty products!
