Bt games unhelpful exchange policy

Bought a Playstation 4 Slim that was updated out of the box with the time already set, meaning it was previously used. Called for a refund or exchange, they said nothing was wrong and despite only using it once refund or exchange will be impossible. I'm now out R5300 paying for a second hand console which apparently was new.
