What you see is not what you get

Relocating is stressful at the best of times and it is during these times that it pays to go with the right people to enable a smooth process.

I chose to go with Brytons Removals to move from Joburg to London - their agent that came to quote seemed friendly and professional and all the correspondence till the container left was timeous and I was very happy. The actual packing went really well and the team of 10 guys who did that were top notch - so no complaints there.

Now several weeks on and the container is sitting and waiting to be delivered I get asked to pay additional charges. The access to the flat is not easy and so they need a shuttle and they thought it was going to the ground floor when in fact it went to the 2nd/3rd floor.

I have had several emails flying back and forth and some telecons and to date am still waiting.

Finally the owner has called me and so I am not hoping to resolve this. But right now am not a happy bunny

I just have to say that despite the week of stress and panic around the botched tranship arrangements with threats of two additional bills , my tale of woe has had a good ending.
Doug, the owner of Brytons, took my case onboard and ensured that the final delivery and unpacking of the container happened without a hitch or without additional expense.
What I appreciate about Doug is that despite his company having slipped up he was prepared to take the knock and make amends. There are few companies that would acknowledge that! I think Brytons deserve a top star rating for that alone! We all make mistakes and to own up to those takes courage and I am sure Brytons will put additional systems in place to ensure this does not happen again.
