Disgusting story terrible vets STAY AWAY
It was in the evening when one of your "specialist" vets told me to hurry up as he needs to go to dinner, during the time a critical patient was being brought in (that in itself raises red flags as to where his head was at and the interest given to the patient) The personal life of a doctor in none of my concern when dealing with a patient. He furthermore repeatedly told me about his dinner arrangements he needed to get back to during the consult, as if he was doing me a favour by being there. It does not take much to read between the lines of his motives, as well as ethical and trust breaches with this behaviour. No treatment options were discussed with me either.as this would be done in the morning SURPRISE SURPRISE.I wonder why?, maybe dinner was waiting. He then left.
After repeated phone calls (eight to be exact) to see the patient’s status, I was not even called back until he passed so that I can, by right, be with my friend and family member. After I was informed of his passing clearly distraught I was told to have a good night .I thankfully have three 1st hand witnesses to attest to all of the above mentioned. The impact of this has made many people distraught. There is a long list of people in the Ranburg and greater Sandton, Bryanston area, with major grievances that I have become aware of and know personally. I will be approaching the veterinary council for further action personally and I know two other people are doing the same. This will not bring back my beloved but hopefully, if there is any justice people will be held accountable for this gross unprofessional misconduct and these things will not happen again. The pain and suffering of myself and family and the loss of my family member cannot be underemphasized. As a psychologist I know that in anger people want someone to blame for their loss this is not the case and furthermore in this time of grieving I not once in your response saw I am sorry for your loss and people don’t need added problems when grieving. In my opinion your response is to save face as well as business and because of an agreement to my post and more complaints the alarm bells seem to be ringing too little too late. I did not even receive what resembles an apology from all those concerned which tells me a lot about the calibre of vets there. If it takes me to verbalise a complaint on social media to get any attention motives are then self-explanatory art they. It also is self-explanatory that concern is now raised as business might be jeopardised. I was also told by one of your vets when told of my dogs passing while I was distraught to have a good evening I mean the ********* behaviour from three vets that night is shocking. Now we are left to pick up the pieces. Nobody was even disciplined, if I had to have practiced in my practice with the ethics I have experienced, I personally would close my doors, because I could not live with myself. I am very well aware of ethical codes as I have practiced in the health care profession myself. Red flags are raised in my profession, if a person is a danger to themselves or others. I have witnessed first-hand your practice is a danger to others. More lives might be saved than lost, but even one life lost that due to negligence does not justify 10 saved. Furthermore how will this be resolved internally, when doctors protect doctors? Therefore the veterinary council and legal action is necessary or resolution would have come before my post, as I have stated my dissatisfaction. Denial prevailed over ethical conduct why should I remind a doctor/doctors of their ethics. I have spent over R150000 at Bryanston vet in the last few years and for me it has never been about the money, but saving a life. You would never understand the damage and trauma to all parties concerned. Either nobody knows what’s going on or nobody cares, until complaints are made that infers to me it’s all about business, otherwise these things would not happen .This is very re-traumatizing for me. I have lost many animal friends and family over the years, but never had to complain, as the vets I dealt with were caring and professional and did all they could, but this experience was ********** to say the least
