Terrible Service Received

My husband bought a car from this amazing dealership and I thought why not give it a try and that was the worst mistake of my entire life.

I cannot believe that I even recommended potential customers to them as I am terrified of the service they can receive after the sale.

Here goes my story...

I purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee in October 2020 from Ephraim(Sales Person),a very humble work committed gentleman who happened to be the same sales person who assisted my husband with his purchase in Brynston Executive Cars.

On the 4th of January whilst visiting my family in East London, the car flashed all gears and refused to enter the gears and also errors on the dashboard regarding tyre pressure, service shifter and the steering wheel became hard to operate(maneuver).I took a pic of all these dashboard messages and explained the whole ordeal to Ephraim on the 4th of January 2021 at 9:40 pm via Whatsap(evidence of this communication is available).

I further informed him that my husband will call in the morning of the 5th of January to explain further as I am not technically clued up on car matters.

on the 5th of January at 06:42 am indeed responded and sent contact details of American SUV that is in Centurion (remember I am in East London),I enquired if there is another option in East London as I was reluctant to drive the car back to Pretoria with such problems. He also advised that American SUV will fix this error as it will be covered by warranty.

My husband called Ephraim on the 5th of January and he advised my husband to put in power steering fluid.Indeed he went to Midas and got Castrol ATF Dex II Automatic Transmission Fluid and put it in as advised by Ephraim.I was not part of this conversation between my husband and Ephraim as I am not technically informed about car issues.

After the Fluid was put in the steering wheel was operational.

On the 7th of January whilst preparing to drive back to Pretoria we passed by the Sasol Garage in Fort Jackson (still in Mdantsane) to fill up the tank. After the refill when we wanted to get out and start with our journey, the car started acting up again. The steering wheel locked and we could only park at the garage.I called DIGICALL ASSIST for the car to be towed to East London dealership and Ephraim advised that we verify if the dealership we are taking the car to is RMI certified and if they work with Warranty Solutions. We indeed followed that advice and Ronnie's Motors in Beacon Bay was compliant. Upon arrival at Ronnies the report mentioned that the car was filled with wrong fluid and that has ruined powersteering pipe and steering rack and both those are not covered by the warranty.

On the 13th of January I sent the technical report to Brynston Executive Cars, this time Ephraim would instruct me to communicate with the "Boss" instead of him. On the 14th I sent the quote of the repairs to the "Boss" and cc'd Ephraim. He told me that the boss will respond on my email.

On the 11th of January I was supposed to report for duty in Pretoria however I was unable to because the car was stuck in East London.

I had to fly back on the 12th of January (Paid R3000).

On the 14th I also informed Ephraim that I have paid for the car to be delivered to Pretoria (I paid R11 000) to get the car here...

I am the one who initiate these follow up conversations and I am made to sound like a nuisance.

Unfortunately my husband got sick and is still sick to even contact the dealership and follow this up.

I then gave a legal mandate for someone to assist regarding the follow up,giving the dealership one more chance for them to sort the car as I have got the car to Pretoria.

On the 18th of January at 08:07am I was put on a conference call with my legal representative and Ephraim gave the phone to the "Boss".

The "Boss" was rude, derogatory, disrespectful, shouting and told me to never call their dealership ever again as the car is ruined by my negligence.

I am appalled, by this kind of service from the dealership. I have never been so ridiculed and disrespected in my entire consumer life.

The car is hardly 3 months into my possession and is already costing R87 000 to repair due and Bryanston Executive Cars wants none of it.

I am now stuck with a defective vehicle that was bought 3 months ago paying R9200 per month for a car that does not work.

Good day , Unfortunately we can not be responsible for  damage to power steering pump and rack  for wrong fluids negligently being used causing damage to components .

Kind regards
