Negative Review on Bryanston Executive Cars

Worst customer service ever! I came across a site called Planet42 whereby one rents to buy a car. Easy to complete an application and once you get approved you can go and choose a vehicle from one of their listed dealerships. As I was looking for a specific car, I found one at Bryanston Executive Cars. I contacted them and the salesperson who assisted me was named Tiro. At first, I got exceptional good service but then everything went downhill. Before collecting the vehicle, I was informed that it was in mint condition. From the pictures received all looked fine. A collection date was confirmed, and I was told that the vehicle was ready for collection. It was roadworthy and had gone for a service. When I arrived late in the afternoon the car was still in the wash bay. On inspection, I found that there were two dents on one of the rear backdoors which I was not informed about. I decided to let it be, I will fix it myself together with any other minor faults. The inspection of the car was done by one of the managers named Jerome. The radio was not working, but he told me that it was easy to reset. I was told that the car went for a service at Tyremart, a company that sells mostly tyres. Later I found that the “service” they boasted about was merely an oil change. No feedback from Bryanston Exec Cars on any queries were received. It was not just to reset the radio, it proved to be complicated costing me R1000. Although the vehicle was at Tyremart, I had to redo the wheel balancing. Then I noticed that oil is coming out through the exhaust pipes I took it in again at my own cost and was told that the valves of the car are worn out and leaking oil. This is a big concern as one of the pistons can go through the engine block and then the entire engine needs to replace. I informed both Jerome and Tiro that I will not be making a payment on this car as I don't get any feedback from management and that I want to return the vehicle because of the engine problem. Only then Jerome responded, telling me he will organize with a service station local to have the vehicle checked. Well, one week later and no further feedback, despite myself prompting for a name of approved service center. The day the inspection was done on the car the manager told me “What you see is what you get" but it's what you don't see that you surely don't want, as an engine that is faulty and on the verge of breaking. For now, I am stuck with a vehicle that I cannot drive with ease and safety, a label as a “bad” payer and a huge headache. I cannot see a happy ending yet and probably more fights are waiting, all that could have been and can be avoided if dealing with honest dealers with good service and communication. So, a big warning against Bryanston Executive Cars, let’s hope that I will soon be able to change this warning to one of confidence soon.
