Brynston Executive Cars Take Advantage of Vulnerable Women- Sold a Faulty Car that almost costed me and my Family’s Lives
In March 2021 I bought a car through these people and I was ******* into buying an old car which has been a problem since I bought it.I’ve never been under so much stress in my life. A purchase that was supposed to make life easy has put my family and my own life at risk- I’m now in debt because of this decision. On the following day after I bought the car I already had problems- but the Salesman Lawrence Matshisevhe kept in touch and pretended to care and told me exactly what to do whenever I had problems. Not even two weeks later, the car almost costed my life and that of my sisters because we were on the highway and somehow the fanbelt snapped, the steering wheel fluid pump had burst and my car just went into shock I couldn’t steer, what if we caused an accident and actually died, that incident caused me to cough up R4500, I am a woman I know nothing about cars and the mechanics. Lawrence Matshisevhe listened to all my problems and every reason I had to buy a car and he took advantage of me to get rid of their old trash. I raised a complaint- but those employees have another boss, I’m not sure if he intimidates them but Luis De Abreu is the most meanest person I’ve ever met- when you walk in there you can hear him screaming at the top of his voice and using vulgar at almost everyone. I took up the matter with the bank financing my car and what Luis did was pull up my contract and blatantly said he is disputing everything I am saying because when I took the car I knew it was a 2nd hand it was inspected in my presence and I agreed I understood what was happening- I am a young woman who knows nothing about cars and mechanics, I was desperate for a car- smooth talked and ******* into buying a car, I was vulnerable so yes I did sign the contract because I trusted them to have given me a good working car. Two weeks ago the same car had multiple issues that amounted to R11k, I had to take out a loan to pay out R7,5k the car has put me in debt and finances were an issue already… and now I’ve had enough because this car has now caused danger to my young children and self, it broke down on me in the evening I was with the kids, we managed to park it in so we can try in the ams to drive it, at 4:00 am I had a vehicle stuck next to bushes, it was raining I was with my young kids, all alone and I could have been ****d, my kids could have been harmed, we had to rush home and prepare for school - I had to use uber- the kids were devastated and even they know that the car goes for repairs every now and again. I’ve towed the car about 5 times this year due to faults and sometimes life threatening break downs, my insurance tells me I’ve used up the towing benefit now I pay out of my pocket to tow the car. All I wanted was an affordable vehicle to help me work for my family- when I contested the issue the boss at Bryanston Discarded my complaint like trash and instructed Lawrence to stop speaking to me, now when I speak to Lawrence he ignores me, he “blue-ticks”/ read and not respond to my messages. What kind of heartlessness is that? How do you ignore someone crying for help, they refuse to buy the car back , they refuse to replace it- I’m stuck with an old non-functioning car that they probably wanted to get rid off and I was the bait. I would not recommend buying a car from these people because all they do is push sales, there’s no customer care/ any remorse whatsoever. I need help, I need to be heard to stop these people from doing this. I cannot put my children’s lives at risk and my own life at risk like that. I know the Consumer Protections Act surely can protect me. If you’re a woman that desperately wants a car, please don’t go there- you will be ****med. To the man that works as a security guard there- I cannot remember the name, but thank you- that young man knows my tears and has witnessed me walk out of that place in devastating. You walk out of there having presented your case feeling worse.. someone needs to stop Bryanston Executive Cars ASAP!! While the car hasn’t taken my life, I need to make people aware. It’s been the worst 8 months of my life since the purchase of the severely damaged vehicle. All I wanted was to cancel the contract and they take their car back, it was declined and now I’m stuck with a dysfunctional car- I’m paying my monthly installments and insurance for a car I don’t even use because it’s always getting fixed and I’m always using uber, so this is unfair and costly to me… I’m always driving in anxiety and that is not healthy.
