Wanting documents when not giving Loan

I responded to an email from Bruma and after a few questions was told that the loan was approved and that after they received the necessary documents, the money would be transferred into my account which I did. I also received an SMS to that effect. However, they kept on requesting new documents and this was not right and that i must send clearer copies etc......Now I was refused the loan with reason? If you ask for a loan at any other institution, you get told right away that you did not get the loan, the reason and NO documents are requested. Now my question is this: why do they need those documents so urgently?
