BMW 118i Drive Train

I bought a new BMW 118i last year 27 May 2015 from BMW Bedfordview dealership and I am not having pleasure in driving this car. The issue is a “drivetrain continue the journey at a moderate speed, full performance not available. I Have taken the problem to BMW to be checked by service three times. Now the car experienced this drive train for the fourth time”.

I informed BMW south Africa that I do not want this car anymore as it is unreliable and BMW need to accept that their product is faulty. I cannot continue like this, it is heavily inconveniencing.

Incidents experienced:

1st incident: The drivetrain warning light popped up and the car starts vibrating on the 05th day of August 2016, I reported the issue with BMW Bedfordview dealership to have the problem checked by service. The feedback given was that the problem has to do with the software.

2nd incident: After picking my car on the 16th day of August 2016, I drove and the rev meter would be so high on low speed and I could no longer drive on Eco mode, 50 metres away from the dealership I drove back to the dealership and explain the problem, the feedback was there is misfire on to cylinder 3 and cylinder 4. On the 29th day of August 2016 a drivetrain warning light popped up and the car starts vibrating, I took the car to the same dealership to have it checked by service.

3rd incident: After picking my car on the 09th day of September 2016 I drove for few days. On the 24th day of September 2016 the drivetrain warning light popped up and the car starts vibrating for the third time, I took the car to the Bedfordview dealer to have it checked by service. The feedback was that there is a misfire on to cylinder 3 and cylinder 4.

4th incident: Another drive train. My car is at the BMW dealer as i'm writing this review.

I sent an email requesting that they replace my car, i havent received any response regarding that email.

This problem is a continuous inconvenience on my side, as I cannot travel freely with the car not knowing when the drivetrain warning light will pop again. I rely on the car to travel to work and long distance, I also have a very young daughter who can get sick anytime in the middle of the night, how will I rush her to hospital without a car or reliable car.

I would like to request BMW to consider replacing the car with a new reliable car of the same features as I bought it. I mean let’s face it, how am I expected to drive and continue paying for such a car.

Not with BMW that I would expect to experience same problem recurring over and over again on a car that was bought brand new.
