Shoddy manufacturing

On the 9 September 2016 I took a ring into Browns eastgate where Martin helped me. I had bought an engagement ring from the store in February that year and one of the diamonds had fallen out with no signs of impact on the ring. I made sure I emphasized that I was getting married within 2 weeks and needed it as soon as possible and was told by Martin that I would have the ring back in five working days and that he would update me on Monday the 12th of the progress. I did not recover a call on Monday, instead I had to follow up on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Each time with Martin promising to call me back with feedback and never getting any callbacks. The next I knew I had an email stating that I would be required to pay R500 for the repairs to this ring which was bought 7 months earlier. As I need the ring urgently I told him I was willing to pay and discuss prices later to get the process happening as quickly as possible. He then told me that the ring would only be ready on the 21st of September for collection, only 3 days before my wedding. When I asked if the process could be sped up I got no assistance, only resistance and there was no attempt to even try and contact head office to try and speed up the process. I definitely will not be purchasing jewellery from Browns ever again as I believed that the amount of money I spend there would mean that I would be getting good quality products and service but clearly that isn't the case.
