Lost diamond after being "fixed" numerous times
If I could give a no star rating I would. Since purchasing my ring in 2013 I have had to send it in numerous times due to my diamond spinning in the setting. In April this year I was told I need to build up the claws and join my wedding band to my engagement ring to ensure the setting was strengthened so it wouldn't happen again. In early September, 4 months after this fix suggested by Browns, my diamond fell out my ring. First the manager at the Browns store rudely told my husband that my ring had never been brought in for the diamond being loose when. We clearly had correspondence the numerous times we had. Now the head office is saying that the diamond fell out because I knocked the ring. The diamond fell out while I was at work (an office job). Surely, using common logic, the ring would have to have an almighty knock to open the setting and knock the diamond loose. I must state at no point was my ring knocked. But from reading the dozens of negative reviews it seems that diamonds fall out of many Browns rings with knocking it being a common excuse. The complete lack of quality for such a supposed world class jeweler is disgusting, not to mention the fact responsibility is completely disregarded by Browns. I have now been quoted to replace the diamond I was told wouldn't fall out 4 months ago, almost double what my entire ring cost.
Browns is an absolute disgrace and definitely should not be and is not a trusted choice.
Perhaps, especially in the days of social media, Browns should think of more creative excuses than telling all customers they knocked the ring. This is just proof of you flouting responsibility and passing blame for essentially swindling your customers out of money.
Absolute disgrace and appalling how ********* Browns is.
Perhaps legal action needs to be taken.
