Went into Brown Hewelers Waterfront yesterday and was stunned by the welcoming reception received. The lady took the time to explain about the company and the products, the origin, etc. what a pleasant experience. Will definitely be back to purchase a set as a gift to myself!

I am writing this review to share my personal experience with Browns Jewellers in the hope that prospective customers can make an informed decision. I purchased my Angel Halo ring from Browns in March 2021. Since then, I have now had to return it for repairs on multiple occasions. The latest experience has been the final straw. Browns charged me R5,600 to repair the ring, stating that the damage was due to wear and that the basket needed replacing, six small diamonds needed replacing, and the ring required refurbishment. Although I disagreed with their assessment, I paid for the repair because I wanted my ring restored properly. I collected the ring only two days ago. When my daughter examined it, she immediately noticed that the centre diamond was loose in its setting. Even more concerning, one of the small diamonds that should have been set in the angel wings beneath the centre stone was completely missing. Instead of six stones as designed, the ring only had five. To make matters worse, the ring had also been resized so loosely that I cannot wear it without the risk of it slipping off my finger. This means I now have to return the ring for a third time. In my opinion, it is unacceptable that a ring returned from a paid repair and quality control process leaves the workshop with a loose centre diamond, a missing accent stone, and an incorrect ring size. These are issues that should have been identified before the ring was handed back to a customer. What has been most disappointing is that every time there is a problem, the explanation is simply “wear and tear,” followed by another substantial repair bill. Yet after paying for repairs, the workmanship has, in my experience, still fallen below the standard I expected from a premium jewellery brand. I have informed Browns that I will not accept responsibility for further repair costs relating to these latest issues. I also intend to have the ring independently inspected once it is returned to me. This review reflects my personal experience only, but after three repair attempts and repeated workmanship issues, I have completely lost confidence in Browns Jewellers. I cannot recommend them based on my experience and, personally, I will never purchase jewellery from Browns again.

Bought a chain with pendant without fitting it. When I tried it on at home, it was way to short - the length will fit a small child's neck. We took it back and paid an extra few R1000 to make it longer. When I tried it on at home it broke. When I took it back they now insist that the chain is broken due to that it got hooked on something???? I can not understand this - I have worn a chain from a different supplier for more that 10 years and it did not "hooked" on anything for 10 years - What is wrong with their chain that it gets hooked on something and breaks on exactly the same place were they extended the chain???? BAD QUALITY AND VERY BAD AFTER SAKE SERVICE! Now I must pay R700 for them to repair their in verier quality chain.

Unfortunately, you have a *****/ or ******* working in your business. This is not the fault of the business hence would not he fair of me to speak about my issue here. If someone from the business can call me, I'll be happy to share my story

The purchase amount was refunded today, and the scales of the Browns snake are revealed. They benefited from the “closure” of account department by keeping the interest to progress their business…

I returned an item of jewellery I bought on the 13th December 2025. The return took place on the 14th December 2025. The profile created was in the name of my life partner V Govender; and I paid as G Naidoo. The discrepancy between profile and payer was an issue for Browns; further details were provided. Now they cannot proceed with refund as their account department is closed. I seek my refund and compensation from Browns. There is no date that Browns can provide for the refund.
