To whom it may concern, I am writing to formally complain about the permanent eyebrow scarring I sustained following a microblading procedure performed by Brow Boutique in Johannesburg. Initially the service appeared satisfactory, but after the procedure I developed a persistent area of redness and scar tissue on the lateral and upper sides of my brows, where hair is now absent and my skin is red and scarred. When I raised these concerns with Brow Boutique, I was not offered accountability or empathy. Instead I was blamed, told the discolouration was my fault, and repeatedly told the pink skin was ***ment — a claim that is and has proven to be untrue. Over the past four years I have sought multiple professional opinions. Dermatologists and experienced eyebrow specialists (including internationally recognized beauticians who specifically specialize in microblading) have examined my skin. They have unanimously confirmed that the pink appearance is not residual ***ment but scarring with visible capillary damage caused by the way the procedure was carried out. Way too much force was app****. I have retained all relevant documentation and receipts. Because this issue has caused me permanent facial scarring and significant emotional harm — including increased anxiety, shame, self-consciousness, and depression — I intend to pursue civil litigation to obtain accountability and appropriate remedy. This complaint is not motivated by money alone. My principal concerns are responsibility, transparency, and the failure of Brow Boutique to acknowledge the harm or to meaningfully assist in identifying corrective treatment options. I was repeatedly offered referral to “their” dermatologist, who is not a qualified physician, rather than an honest, professional investigation or a discussion about realistic remediation. I would have preferred a straightforward acknowledgment and a collaborative approach to explore treatments that might improve the scarring. Instead, the matter was repeatedly minimized and deflected, to a point that they stopped speaking to me, since I was the “problem”, instead of acknowledging what they did to me. I ask that Brow Boutique acknowledge the injury caused by the procedure, engage responsibly in resolving this matter (including sharing accurate information about what was performed and cooperating with qualified medical professionals), and make reasonable efforts to address the damage done. If Brow Boutique is unwilling to address this claim in good faith, I will proceed with formal legal action and will take steps to inform many others of my horrifying experience.
