Extremely poor workmanship!

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD WITH A CONTRACTOR! Having seen the impressive website of the business, I approach the company for a quote to excavate and tar a new driveway and parking for my motorhome. The owner (Nash) impressed me during the quoting process and I appointed them in good faith after consulting with three of the references he gave me. All of them were very positive. Soon after completion of the job and full payment, the end product proved to be a disaster. The driveway gave way under the weigh of my motorhome vehicle when I parked it for the first time. It left deep tracks up the driveway, potholes under the wheels and cracking of the tarmac. I reported the problem and he asked me to send photos which I did. Then he fell totally silent. It was clear that the compacting wasn't done properly and tar of poor quality as well as it was crumbling and a plant even found its way and appeared through the tar within a few days. I followed up at numerous occasions only to not receiving any reply. I learned that he left Cape Town for work they got in PE and tried to cll him but he never answered to my calls. After a month of inquiries, I phoned the contact number on the website and Nash answered the phone as it was diverted to his cell phone He said he was coming back from PE and would come to see me that week and as expected he never turned up - again ignoring my messages. Now after two months of begging him to come back, I have appointed a reputable company to remove everything and redo the job. It was an expensive lesson. I now noticed on Hello Peter that others had similar experiences.
