Broadlands Private School

February 2025 I paid my daughters school fees at Broadlands Prvate school in De Deur in full including registration and stuff.I was expected to relocate from Soweto to Meyerton. Unfortunately the Builders delayed the project.

I then reached out to the school, and told them my sitution of the failed plan to relocate. I asked for a refund and they told me that because I did not give then 3 months notice, I will then forfeit R7000 and couple of rands and will also have to wait for a period of 6 to 9months to get refunded

It is now post 9months and still nothing, two weeks ago I reached out and asked about the refund. I was told that my name appears on the payment plan for November and they only do payments Fridays

I then requested to know the date of payment, and I was told that an email was sent to Head office for feedback, days went past with no response and I reached out again and requested for a telephone number for Head Office and was told they do not have a telephone they only communicate via Email.

On monday I reached out again and was advised that they will speak to the Principal and get back to me, and ofcourse that did not occur, I had to call them for feedback

Yesterday 25th November 2025, 9months 2weeks with non-payment from Broadlands Private School, I again reach out asking for feedback and im told that there is NO feedback and they still waiting for Head Office, I then told the Finance lady that I will be taking them to small claims Court.

Minutes after, I received a message from her stating that Head office responded and I will receive my money on Monday the 1st December 2025

I was charged R7k for not giving them a notice of 3 months, yet I had to wait over 9months for my refund. Not sure if this is even legal or makes sense.
