Broadband solutions *****!
MTN South Africa shares our personal data with their 3rd party partners without our consent, I wonder if they have updated their POPI act policy or not. To cut the story short , I logged in my MTN app then realized a new number linked to my account, I quickly contacted mtn customer services for clarity. They confirmed that I took a sim only mtn contract online via broadband solutions tele marketing. Mind you I've never spoken to any tele marketer confirming that I'm interested in taking a deal online. I asked mtn to block and cancel that number because I will not be liable for something I did not authorize. MTN told me in order for them to cancel the contract I have to go to the SAPS to open a ***** case and get a case number as well as an affidavit and bring a certified copy of ID then mtn will investigate the matter further then they'll cancel it. Fast forward I receive an invoice from mtn with 4 more contracts activated on the 22 July 2022 were they took 3 Samsung s22 ultra. I since launched a complaint with mtn on the 25th of July 2022 but still Im yet to get a feedback from them. Now my matter is being handled by SAPS and took the matter to ICASA in the hopes that my matter would be solved. MTN has lost it's touch with customers they don't care anymore, as for Broadband solutions they have to be sued for personal data theft and **********ly taking out contracts without one's consent . Broadband solutions manager Shaun Atchia is so *********** that when ever you call their offices they tell you that he resigned yet I contacted him when I first learned about this matter and he assured me that he'll investigate this and solve it. ICASA and other relevant telecommunications ombudsman must step in
