Nissan does not honour 3yr maintenance plan

We bought a X trail end Aug 2012 - it has a 3yr maintenance/service plan. In June we had problems with the wheel bearings and the workshop said we need to fix it immediately because the service plan is coming to an end that week. At that point we were 2500km's way from our next scheduled service, so I queried that because we only bought the car end of August and that is when the plan should \expire". The lady sai NO"
