Complaint

Good day,

I write this communiqué with great displeasure and resentment of a great reputable company like you. I suppose almost every organisation aspire to render an impeccable and flawless service to its clients. Some firms accentuate and pledge their commitment of excellent service through their vision and mission statement, values, characters etc. And I just could not help but to wonder if you do have these guiding philosophies and if you do, whether you uphold them or it’s just a PR stunt. My conclusion about all this was that your company seems to be a direct opposite of this, and your service levels leave much to be desired.

Cutting to the chase, I have three complaints about this company, firstly yesterday I visited your Mitchell’splain branch at Station Plaza and I’ve been doing my shopping at that branch for years. Apart from other items I buy from the branch, I normally buy the big box of 10kg chicken and have it cut so that it can shrink in a smaller bag and easier to carry. This is the service I pay for, it’s not free so the company doesn’t me any favour by cutting the chicken. To my disbelief, yesterday I was told that meat won’t be cut during month end due to high traffic volumes in the store. And that is only time I buy my groceries at Britos, besides I was not prepared to carry a big box of chicken around the centre.

According to me high traffic volume means that the company is producing good returns as a result of their sales and marketing strategies. And companies which put their clients’ interest at heart would devise strategies that will lure and entice shoppers to come back and encourage loyalty. Clearly Brotos does not care about that, they only care about once off shoppers. If you experience high traffic volumes in your store invent strategies that seek to please and delight customers and not the other way around. It’s not their (customers) fault the store is full and all they want is convenience, and be glad because they chose you as their preferred shopping destination. So if I was the manager in that branch I would deploy more cutting machinery and more people so as to sustain my existing customers and attract new ones, and not chase them away. And that is exactly what I did yesterday I bought the chicken from a competitor that was also busy just like Britos and they managed to cut my chicken without any complications.

My second complaint is that I approached a gentleman to take the chicken out of the box and dismantle it into a bag so that it can be easy to carry. He told me to go to the boys packing the chicken, instead of him approaching those boys . I did not do that and stood there right next to him and asked him again the same thing then he told me he will attend to me and he never did. That is disgraceful and horrific service I’ve ever received at Britos.

And thirdly, while I was there I immediately decided to “Google” your company and the point of contact on the website was a branch in Stikland. When I visited your website I expected head office details, people more responsible, you can trust them about whatever issue you have regarding the company and not a branch. However I was attended to by Deny who was also not helpful. I told him everything that happened and he told he will call the branch manager at Station Plaza and will revert back to me. After he spoke to the manager he told me my chicken cannot be cut. I was fuming with anger at him to think that he would assist me. When I threatened to report him as well, he had an audacity to tell me to go right ahead and even offered to give contacts of a person I can report to. He should have referred me to the relevant people from the onset and not pretend to be a head office correspondent and wasting my time.
