STAY AWAY FROM BRITISH AIR AND AVIOS MILES

I have accumulated almost a million avoid points with British Air. I have been trying for the last 4 years to use my points either by purchasing a ticket outright or by purchasing a ticket and upgrading.<br> <br> I defy anyone to log onto BA website and be able to use his/her points, or even to find an available flight where you can use Avios points as they proudly advertise.<br> I have resorted to nominating a Travel Agent to act on my behalf. See TA Below......<br> <br> \I have chatted to British Airways and they are pretty strict! They will not give me any info on your BA Executive Avios number as I am not a nominated assistant on your card.<br> <br> They would however tell me the following:-<br> 1. In order to use your points to upgrade to business class you need to purchase a premium economy class ticket return.<br> 2. You will require 109 000 points per person to upgrade to business class return.<br> 3. You can mix British Airways and American Airlines"<br> <br> That was Jul 2014"
