British Airways owes me £733 and an apology

I paid to "HOLD YOUR BOOKING" on 28th April 2018 - flying to London on 26th July on the cheapest Business Class ticket because I knew that this date would not change. I booked a Premium Economy ticket to return to CT on 7th September because that was the first date that I could see that I could use my AVIOS to upgrade to Business. Also I always find my return date changes which is clear to BA on my executive club membership history. I suffer from chronic fibromyalgia and experience terrible pain on long distance flights and can only deal with flying where there is a flat bed.

The BA online booking system then went down & I was unable to "PAY AND COMPLETE YOUR BOOKING" and received a reminder to do so at 01h07 on 30th April. When I tried to do so online the ticket price had gone up more than R6000. I contacted the call centre & explained that due to the problem on the BA online system I had not been able to complete the booking & I was still within the 72 hour window and I refused to pay the increased amount. He helpfully (I thought) did the booking for me at close to original quote but changed may Premium economy return ticket to the cheapest class which I only found out in London can't be changed without major cost.

I had to change my return date & call the UK centre twice - the first time I was quoted ± £600 to change date & upgrade to Business which I thought was too expensive - I was also told that there might be an Avios upgrade available once I knew exactly what date I wanted to change my date to.

Later this changed to £613 to simply change the return date by 3 days & stay in Premium Economy. I had to do this but believed that I would sort this craziness out on my return to SA. In addition I had lost my Business Class baggage allowance when I changed my return date and had to purchase an extra bag @ £120. Effectively the fact that BA online booking system was down from some time on 28th April until 30th April has cost me £733 and I am beyond outraged. I have contacted the so c called Customer Care via email more than 10 times, once a representative phoned me but I was on a call to my UK client. She has never called again & the replies that I was receiving were trite & showed a complete lack of understanding of my issue. They now don't bother to reply to mails & she has never called back & they believe that Customer Care has closed their case and that I must call a number in Johannesburg to find out why the date change cost so much because they can't answer that !! Well I know that this was caused by their online system being down and me not being able to Pay & Complete my booking and that the call centre operator changed my Premium Economy return to the cheapest class so that the extra ZAR6000 that had been erroneously added to my booking could be reduced.

British Airways owes me £733 and an apology.
