British Airways Delayed Flights

I travelled home from the UK on 6 August with Brutish Airways. However my flight was delayed and we only left the UK on 7 August, my family had organised a homecoming welcome for me which had to be cancelled and it was really inconvenient with the flight being delayed. I submitted a compensation claim which British Airways approved and I was advised would be paid on 7 October, to date it has not been paid, each time I follow up I am told that the finance division is investigating, I am not sure how long they need to investigate as it's now been two weeks that I have received the same reply. They have no problem inconveniencing a passenger but they delay compensation for as long as they want too.
