Bad attitude and no willingness to assist
My daughter book a flight through British Airways to Ireland, one hour stop over in England. Three calls were made to British Airways to confirm whether she required a transit visa even if she would only be at Heathrow for 1 hour (stop over). During all three calls she was assured she did not need the visa as she is not even leaving the boarding area, arriving gate 2, leaving gate 2. We also have an email from the British consulate confirming that a transit visa would not be required. After this the ticket was booked and seat secured.
When arriving to board, she was told by the ground staff that she needs the visa. Management and ground staff were extremely rude and said she must read her documentation (tried to explain the above about calls and the email) but not willing to listen.
In the end we had to purchase another ticket for her to fly to Ireland; however now British Airways does not want to assist with the refund of the ticker or even compensating for the new ticket which she had to purchase.
Service sucks big time, no assistance, bad attitude and passing the buck all the time. Nobody was willing to even TRY to assist us
