*******!

My husband was diagnosed with pericarditis in February 2014 which he has fully recovered from in the meantime ever since and has had no other heart related issues ever since. He was insured with Liberty Life before and that was recently after the 2014 once off incident. They have insured him with no penalties added for years and that after the once off incident in 2014. He went for an extensive 2 hour medical examination ranging from ECG to blood tests at at Dischem in Port Elizabeth. He saw the Dr afterwards and she stated everything was fine and he is very healthy. Now Brightrock is replying with the following: 50% loading on your life cover due to your angina report. They have also excluded you for your heart due to the same issue. Lastly, they have put a psychiatric exclusion on the policy due to your anxiety. I did argue quite strongly against all of the above as the reports they have are from 2014, and I said that you did not have any current issues. Their response was that they can only go on the information they have and that if you can provide more recent medical evidence that you do not have angina or that you have not had any anxiety problems, they will consider removing the exclusions and possibly the loading. The end result is that your premium for the same cover has gone up from R1,057.31 pm to R1,130.61 pm. Your current Cover Proposal: ***; revised Cover Proposal: ***

I refuse to except that! He is a non smoker and has a glass of wine now and then. He is healthy and has been ever since the once off incident. This is a money making ****! How can one Life insurance insure him without penalties and even Vitality life insurance in the UK which we have been on for almost 4 years! Something does not make sense and if this is the way they treat new clients, then we do not want their life cover at all

Reviewer Update
Good day Brightrock
We are still awaiting reply.
Please contact my husband on ***
it is absurd that he has been excluded due to a condition he had in 2014. He saw Dr Iisa after his extensive examination and ECG and blood test and he still stated clearly that all is well and Ian is in healthy condition. He has even previously been with Liberty Life after 2014 and they were fully aware and grasped that this condition recovers fully and they did not exclude him and he does NOT have a psychiatric condition and does not suffer from anxiety. Who is this medical underwriter? It is absurd!
