Alteration disaster
I decided to buy my wedding dress from bridal wardrobe instead of having it made,as this seemed to be the most convenient and reliable option.I stay in Port Elizabeth but as I am from Pretoria, and this is where my wedding will be,I decided to buy my dress in Pretoria. I was assured that 2 fittings would be adequate but I still went ahead and bought tickets for 3 weekends in Pretoria. At my 1st fitting the dress was too big but this was not an issue as alterations would be easy to do. I asked if could come for the next fitting after 2 weeks but was told that this was not how they usually do it and that they would prefer my next fitting to be 2 weeks before my wedding. Trusting their expert judgement I agreed. However, 2 weeks before my wedding my dress was uncomfortable and ill fitting. They agreed that it was not altered correctly as my measurements were still the same and now I had to purchase extra plane tickets to fly again, a week before my wedding. I was shocked to find that they now made my dress even smaller.A week after the previous fitting my dress was now unable to zip up.It is now 5 days before my wedding and I do not have a dress, even though fully paid for.
