Avoid Third Dimension - Disastrous Workmanship by Brenton Smythe

We hired Brenton Smythe aka Brent trading as Third Dimension, to renovate our bathroom. It was a complete disaster. He misrepresented his skills, charged a daily rate while dragging the project well beyond the quoted timeframe, and delivered shoddy, incomplete work.

Everything was either badly done or left unfinished — from doors that no longer close, missing fittings, cracked tiles, loose plumbing, to visible mess and sloppy finishes throughout. Despite this, he had the audacity to issue a summons for final payment, which we withheld due to the extensive remedial work needed.

The worst part: just 5 months later, the shower is failing completely due to poor waterproofing — tiles are coming off and damp is spreading. We now have to gut and redo the entire shower and toilet at significant extra cost.

We strongly warn anyone considering this builder: do not hire Brenton Smythe / Third Dimension. He is, in our view, completely unqualified and irresponsible to work in anyone’s home.
