TL;DR - STAY AWAY FROM BREGAN PROPERTIES AND CHRIS BARNARD

An employee of mine paid a deposit to Bregan Properties (I was next to him when he did so and it was an immediate payment). The next day he was told that they didn't receive the payment and had given the place to someone else. Chris Barnard (the company owner and director) says that he can't provide proof of payment for the refund because his system doesn't allow it, he also can't provide proof of payment from the bank. I tried to call Chris to find out what happened, he either doesn't answer or immediately starts shouting at me and is very rude. He then ends the call. One one of the calls (of two that he answered) he said that he will go to the police station to open a case against me and I will get arrested. I agree that he should but he does not want to take my information so that he can open a case against me. Then he asked me why I am worried because I didn't pay him the money. I have since sent him an email which he hasn't rep**** to.

I've just gotten off the phone with my lawyer and will be going to the police station with my employee. If the police can't help, we will be taking Chris to court. This can't keep happening to countless people.
