Horrible Service and Issue not Fixed!
I towed my car in at Bryanston Toyota on the 26th of November 2019, around 11:57 am. The lady who assisted me (Maryke Nel) was polite and helpful at the time. They organised transport to take me to work and advised they would call me to advise what the issue was and cost thereof. She called me at 15:44 to tell me that they would have to keep the car overnight as the technicians were still busy and would call me the following morning with more information. I waited for the call with no luck until I called in twice around 12pm, at this point I am not very unhappy with the service and lack of communication and Maryke told me she still had no information and would go find out from the technicians, 24 hours later and midday I still had no information. She then called me just before 14:00 but missed the call. She sent me a message advising me what the issue was and how much it would cost and if they should go ahead. I was advised it would be done by today, I agreed. At around 16:20, she called me advising that they were almost done with the car and unfortunately could not organize a driver for a pick up which I gladly Uber myself there. I got there around 16:40 and was told they were still busy but should be done in the next 10 minutes. She proceeded to arrange the invoice and explained to me that the issue was with the spark plugs, the last place I had taken it to for service used the Hilux ones instead of a Yaris and that there was also an issue with the V-belt which they changed. All these issues apparently affected my brakes and this affected the car not moving and the sounds it was making. She advised all was now sorted, she continued to tell me that they had fixed the brakes, the airbags and the passenger chair which was under warranty. She advised everything was fine and the car was washed. Here I am, happy with what I was hearing, signed the invoice and made the payment and this was now around 17:05 and they close at 17:00. I drive my car, realised that the passenger chair was no longer moving but continued, I also noticed that my brakes were a little hard when pressing on them and thought it was because they had just changed them. I continue to drive and in less than 15 minutes of driving and less than 1 Kilometer away, the car started slowing down again, the same sign came up and had to stop on the side of the road. I tried to continue driving a bit and it allowed so I could park at a safer spot. As I continued driving and tried to stop, my brakes were no longer working. It was now around 17:30, I am stuck with a car that was supposedly fixed but still had the same issues plus the brakes no longer working. I could no call my insurance to tow the car and Toyota was already closed. I had to leave the car where it had stopped overnight and hope that nothing happens to it. I organised an Uber back home. This morning, 28th November 2019, I came back to Toyota to advised that the car stopped on the road, not far from here with the same issue and brakes no longer working. Maryke proceeds to ask me if I will be bringing it in, I advised her I couldn't cause that would be a cost to me yet again when the car was suppose to have been fixed. She then proceeded to tell me that she would speak to her managed. 30 minutes later she comes back to tell me that the technician would be up with his car to assist me with bringing it here. We drove to the car, where the gentlemen checked it and agreed to drive it here while it was still starting. Maryke comes back to tell me that her manager advised they would keep the car, I then tell her that I need the car. They kept it on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was suppose to be fixed but it wasn't and I can not leave here until it has been fixed and if that is not possible I would like my refund and my car and I will get it towed to a place where they will be able to assist. The proceeds to tell me that they can't refund cause the parts had already been bought and used, I then ask her if thay fixed the car which the answer was no cause I am here yet again. This lady, in my frustrated state continues to tell me to not be rude when I'm telling her that I need this fixed by 12pm because it is now the 3rd day that the car is here and I paid for service that I did not receive. She then tells me that she can't guarantee that because they need to check what the issue is, so my question was if they still need to check, what did they fix exactly?! Did they randomly decide that the issue was the spark plugs and V-belt and hoped it would be fixed. I am very disappointed in the service I have received from Bryanston Toyota in the last 2 and half days. I thought coming here would be better and the service would be better since it is a Toyota car and they know their car. This has been one of the worst service and they treat like you don't even pay for their service!!!
