4 Years of Defective Products, Deflection, and Disregard – Edblo / Bravo Brands
I am publicly documenting the atrocious consumer experience my family has suffered at the hands of Edblo (Bravo Brands). Four years ago, I purchased a premium Edblo Pearl mattress from the Somerset West branch (now Mister Bed) for approximately R11,000 as a gift for my son, and his wife.
The mattress suffered severe structural failure shortly after the 2-year mark. Months before any formal email logs, my son repeatedly contacted Kyle, the Somerset West store manager, verbally reporting this failure. When written trails finally escalated, Edblo ignored countless emails and telephone calls, leaving my family in an ongoing nightmare.
To add insult to injury, Bravo Brands recently attempted to exploit us by demanding an additional R2,500 (later adjusted to R1,729 + R482 delivery fee) to rectify a manufacturing defect on a product that carries a 10-YEAR WARRANTY. Attempting to charge pro-rata fees for a product that failed due to poor manufacturing—after delaying the resolution for years through their own corporate incompetence—is ********* and predatory.
I have returned to the US and consulted with my attorney. We issued a Formal Final Demand with a strict deadline of 29 May 2026 at 16:00 SAST for a 100% cost-free replacement. Bravo Brands has chosen to let that deadline pass in complete silence. Be warned: My US counsel is now officially escalating this matter directly to the National Consumer Commission (NCC) and the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman (CGSO) for breaches of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). If you value your money and your rights as a consumer, stay far away from Edblo and Bravo Brands. They take your money and disappear when their premium products fail.
