BRAUN AFTER SALES *******

I bought a "top-of-the range Oral B Triumph toothbrush on the 27/12/2014 and honestly believed I had bought the Rolls Royce of toothbrushes (the price made it seem so). I have loved and used the toothbrush religiously for the past 2 years, however in January of this year (2017), my toothbrush just stopped charging. I went through to Dischem from where I had bought this item and spoken to the manager of the store - he advised me to contact BRAUN directly, for which he gave me a number in Bedfordview. I contacted them and was told in no uncertain circumstances that; 1. They dont service toothbrushes, 2. They only bring in spares and 3. They are sick and tired of Dischem giving out their number... I was actually quite taken-aback... I then tried to do my own homework to find out where I could get the toothbrush serviced. After a complete run-around, I got hold of the P&G Consumer division - I was told by the receptionist that if I gave her my details, she would get someone to contact me by 'day's end' - I'm not sure which DAY she was referring to??? I then also logged a complaint on-line and got a reply that someone would contact me within 48 hours (Ref #: ********** 0). Not sure from when the 48 hours begins???

3 days later I phoned back as I had not had any feedback... I again spoke to the receptionist and she again informed me someone would contact me. The next day, I received a call from a number indicating IMPERIAL Car Dealership ( ********** ) and as it indicated SPAM, I avoided the call. Upon listening to the message, realised it was from a Thandeka at P&G - I immediately phoned her back and spent the next 45 minutes trying to sort my issue out; she was basically insistent that I had to go find my receipt of purchase prior to anything being done for me and that I couldn't bring the product in anywhere.

I was totally annoyed and went back to Dischem for assistance. Wynand from the store was very helpful and ran around trying to find out how I could get my toothbrush serviced. 3 days later he came back to me and informed that he had obtained a copy of my original receipt and although couldnt help me, had all the contact information to contact P&G. I went in and collected my toothbrush and immediately contacted (once again) the P&G After Sales Service number and again asked to speak to Thandeka. I informed her that I now had the necessary papers and what was the next step. She asked for my physical address and asked me to give the TOOTHBRUSH to the Courier when he arrived to collect. To which the toothbrush was duly collected by Courier-it the 1st week of February.

I have waited patiently for feedback, only to get a call from Thandeka last week Wednesday (15/02) to say that they needed my charger as well before they couldn't do a full investigation as to what was wrong with my toothbrush!!!!! Why had she not mentioned this earlier???

She contacted me this morning (2/02)and had the following to say;

1. They had 'tested' my toothbrush and had found it only lasted for 5 brushes

2. They could not tell me what was wrong

3. They needed me to pay R750 before they could tell me what was wrong

Now I am sorry, this has been going on for almost 2 months and now she wants me to pay R750 for them to check what is actualy wrong and if they cant find what is wrong, they will replace the toothbrush!!

These are my issues;

1. It has taken so long to tell me what I already know

2. I believe it is just the internal battery that needs replacing

3. If I could buy it and do it myself I would

4. I can buy a new toothbrush (not the same model) that would do the same job, for cheaper than the amount required to open the toothbrush and look as to what is wrong

5. I bought a top-of-the-range model believing it would last and that the basic component, the battery could easily be replaced, not pay R750 for a battery and a service.

6. The toothbrush is in immaculate condition and I have really looked after it, so there is no abuse or damage to the item.

I am sorry this disgusting AFTER SALES ******* does not work well with me, I paid good money for this toothbrush and now am being ********** to have a battery replaced!!! I would far rather support the competition than ever buy an ORAL B product again.

AFTER SALES CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS!!!! Spend a fortune to be ********** down the line for a service....
