Very unhappy with Bratts-IT. co. za

Hello, first let me introduce myself I am Jacques Bosman from White River, Mpumalanga South Africa. Last year my computer’s motherboard broke, and I wanted to fix it, instead of buying it online and do it myself I thought that I would save time by letting a professional fix it for me. I Googled and found a computer repair shop in White River called Bratts-it.co.za I took my pc in and they took a look at it. Hein the owner got back to me and confirmed that it was the motherboard so I asked him how much it will cost to fix my system, replacing the motherboard which was a (7th gen socket 1151) motherboard. And he told me he had a motherboard but it was too big for my case. So I asked him how much it would cost since I basically just need the motherboard, case and power supply. I already had the CPU, ram, SSD and mechanical hard drive. He said that he will get back to me. I waited a few days and he then agreed on R2499 to basically build me a pc. I paid cash on the 5th of January and they let me know that my pc is ready for collection. I went to collect it. I asked the young IT technician if it was a 7th gen motherboard he said yes I asked him is it ddr4 ram he said yes, he said how he upgraded my pc from i3 to i7 and 4gb ram to 8gb I was very happy with their service until i got home. As I want to plug my HDMI cable into my new (Upgraded pc) I got the greeting from a VGA input, I instantly knew something is wrong. So I took the side panel off and saw the motherboard i Googled the name and it turned out to be a second gen motherboard so I contacted them and told them what I found and I am not happy and if I could bring it back and they rep**** “yes”. so I went back the same day and I contacted Heinrich and explained to him, he then apologized and said ''he will sort it out'' this is on the 5th of Jan. I was contacting Heinrich almost every week as he was looking for a motherboard for me since he didn’t actually have a 7th gen motherboard for me. We went back and forth for months. Finally on the 8th of March 2022 he contacted me and said he really tried to build me a pc but people selling 7th gen motherboards are expensive with their prices. He then apologized about the inconvenience and that he would refund me. I agreed on the refund and sent him my banking details. A week went by and I asked him again about it, he said that it first needs to be approved. At this point I started worrying that it would be declined and ill lose R2499. I asked him and he said he had to explain to the people doing the refunds to approve it. He was positive that they will approve it. So I kept asking every week for an update since I heard nothing from him. The 23rd of March 2022 he told me its been approved and it will be 2 days max to be paid. So the 30th I asked again and he said it will be in the week. So again I waited and on the 1st of April 2022 I asked him since I haven’t received any refunds yet. He rep**** and said that he followed up and said they are just waiting for funds. Now I am getting worried that I wont get my refund. I contacted him on the 4th, 5th and 6th of April 2022 and he hasn’t rep**** yet.

Also I haven’t collected my old pc because I am afraid that they will then refuse to refund me.

Overall im very unsatisfied of the service.

I just want people to see the kind of service I got from Bratts-it and won't recommend anyone to take your computer to their shop.
