Think twice before enrolling your child at Brainline!

My daughter was an A aggregate student before joining Brainline where her marks plummeted between 20-30% across her subjects. There are very few people (not the teachers) marking the subjects and to get a remark costs a huge amount of money. Children are also taught new work that will be in the exam up until the day before they write which does not give them sufficient time to prepare for their exams. Her confindence and self esteem took a huge hit and she felt that she would have to give up on her dream of becoming an engineer as her marks were now well below the required marks to study engineering. I've taken her out of Brainline at the beginning of this term and within a month her marks are back to before her joining Brainline with almost all her subjects above 80% again. I now have my happy, confident daughter back! Parents should really think twice before enrolling their children in Brainline.

Hi Bettie We take reviews like these very seriously. We are sorry to see you go and to hear that your experience with us was not positive, and that existing channels for query resolution did not work for you. During the year, our teachers host online classes that focus on key concepts within the subject. These concepts are then revised closer to the exam to help students prepare for the exam.  If classes are not attended throughout the year, it is likely that there will be an impression work is taught at the last minute. Regarding our re-mark costs, we ask R250 for re-marking a paper, and if the mark changes, the money is refunded to the parent/student.  We have appointed external markers to ensure that tests and assignments are marked objectively. There is always room to improve and we are working on improving the turnaround time of providing students with feedback and results. The majority of our students do not have a similar experience, and as a result we are sad to see you go. Kind regards,The Brainline Team
