Failure to investigate a ********** account
On 17/02/2013 i was contacted by a debt collector representing Bradlows informing about an unpaid loan. I immediately contacted Bradlows to find out more information because i was not aware that i had a loan with them. I found out that the account was opened in Bloemfontein (I'm originally from Limpopo and i currently reside in Johannesburg, i have never been to Bloemfontein and the closet that i have been to the Free State Province is Welkom). I spoke to a consultant at Bradlows and i was advised to send the following (affidavit, ID copy and 5 signatures), i sent all the requested documents and in my Affidavit i requested Bradlows to give me feedback once they have concluded the investigation, but Bradlows didnt bother to give me any feedback. In November 2014 i was contacted again by another debt collector (DMC) representing Bradlows informing me that Bradlows has handed over the account to them. I forwarded DMC the very same documents that i sent to Bradlows and i received an SMS confirmation that the account has been handed back to Bradlows (dated 14/11/ 2014). I have been retrenched and i'm loosing job opportunities because when companies conduct ITC checks Bradlows comes up.
