Bradlows in breach of contract

i am having trouble cancelling my insurance, due to the fact that when i bought the items at Bradlows the salesperson indicated that i needed to take out insurance on the items with Bradlows. I then asked her what it covers because i do have household content insurance and she indicated to me that the insurance covers not only theft, loss of income such as dismissal, retrenchment and death cover. In May 2024, i was unfairly dismissed from my job and thereafter i contacted Bradlows and the insurance indicating so. I was then informed that the insurance does not cover dismissal, as loss of income.

My argument since then has been, that the salesperson was not truthful. It was not a necessity for me to take content insurance with Bradlows as it is unnecessary for me to pay insurance of R400 for three items whereas,i am paying insurance elsewhere for my entire house. To date, i have had numerous call centre agents call and be dismissive and unprofessional in handling this, none of them have gone back and listened to the recordings, none of them are informed and i feel and know that Bradlows is in breach of contract.

I was also contacted by the attorneys my account was handed over to, i explained the entire situation with them and they have also indicated that Bradlows CAN cancel the insurance. It is not compulsory to take out content insurance with Bradlows. If it was life insurance then it would have been understandable. I have also indicated that i will continue my installments on CONDITION that the insurance is terminated with immediate effect and i will not be paying any arrears due to the negligence and incompetence of a Bradlows employee. I was also not even a copy of my contract, as the salesperson indicated HEAD OFFICE will email it to me. That store closed a month or two after i purchased the items. To date, nothing has been forth coming and no one is helpful.
