WORST EXPERIENCE & CUSTOMER SERVICE RECEIVED EVER

WORST EXPERIENCE & CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER❗️❗️❗️❗️

On a Sunday morning, 1 September 2024 at around 08h45 my family and I stopped at BP Fuel station located just off the N1 highway at Beyers Naude North to fill up with petrol... A task that most of us do quite often but to my disappointment, an experience that has left me with a fight which I feel is definitely unnecessary.

When we stopped there I was assisted by one of the petrol attendants, named Henry. I requested that he put in R400 93 unleaded which he went and did. The petrol pump showed the total filled up of R 400 whereafter Henry went to fetch the card machine to process the payment, which was processed. He confirmed this and then thanked me and told me to have a nice day. As I then pulled away, to my horror I heard a loud noise and then realised that he never removed the petrol pump nozzle pipe that fills the petrol tank from my petrol cap and that it pulled out from the actual pump that it was connected to 😱😱😱

This caused some serious damage to my petrol cap and the left side panel of my car. I then stopped to speak to the manager, Dorcas, however she was not very helpful nor friendly at all. She told me that BP would not take responsibility for this and that the petrol attendant would have to pay and that I must only write down his details.

With that all said, I went the usual route of contacting my insurance provider, but to my dismay was told that due to it being a one vehicle incident, I would have to pay an excess of R13 000🤦♀️

I decided to then rather look at the option of having the damage repaired privately at a panelbeater and having BP pay the supplier directly.

I obtained the quote and sent it through to BP head office, whereafter I was told by two of their employees, Jennifer and Noks, that BP is happy for me to proceed with the repairs and that I should send them the invoice for payment...

I finally thought that atleast I would have my, almost brand new vehicle, repaired....

Unfortunately NOT!!!!

Still to date I am yet to receive any confirmation or any further correspondence from BP head office and the only feedback I did receive was that they were waiting for their insurance to pay them before they can pay the panelbeater 😡

This is now almost 3 months later and I am still left with a damaged car❗️❗️❗️

My plan was to trade my car in for something a little bigger for our growing family but have been told by the dealership that this damage would mean that they would offer me R10 000 to R15 000 less.....

Needless to say...

This is by far the worst experience and client service I have received EVER 😥😔
