UNCARING AND RUDE ATTITUDE OF BP STAFF

On Satday, 26 Oct, on our way to a funeral, a lady friend and I experienced a tyre burst as we were getting close to BP service station in Alexandra Road in King William's Town. We drove into the place only to get a treatment direct from hell. She asked one petrol attend to help us change the tattered tyre and he referred her to the supervisor on duty, Sonwabo who refused that we be helped. He claimed that they were busy yet there were attendants who were standing doing nothing, as we were stuck in the car, there was no rush at the place. She came back into the car helplessly. A few minutes later, an attendant Athi shouted from where he was serving a customer that we had to move the immobile vehicle to another area. We had no idea how that would have been possible, we remained where we were. An angel in the form of a motor mechanic offered to help us and we got sorted. As we were driving away, we told Athi that we were leaving and he has to be very happy, he nodded and smiled. We passed Sonwabo and told him that we got assistance and were leaving his service station, he did not even look at us even though we called him by name. Why is it called a service station if all they want are customers who come to fill their fuel tanks? Where we were asking for too much?
