****med at BP Letchworth
On 17 Dec I went to BP Letchworth (Edgemead, Cape Town) to fill in using a Vodapay voucher that I purchased earlier. A manager at the station, who confirmed the pre-authorization for R880. Then he proceeded to fill in the car. The pump stopped working once it reached the amount of R673, as the manager explained, due to connection failure caused by load shedding. The manager refused to proceed filling in the car and advised to contact Vodapay for refund. I contacted Vodapay the same day and was told by a manager of their customer care that the BP vouchers are 'single redemption' and refused refund referring to T&C.
Now instead of getting discounted petrol using a voucher I lost R200 due to BP pump failure. It is rather unfair to make a customer pay for the problems at the petrol station that have to be resolved between BP and Vodapay.
I tried to use another voucher for R440 that I purchased earlier. I made sure that there was no load shedding when I went to the same filling station. The result is still the same. Pump stopped at R334 mark, so petrol for R106 was ****** from me again. A manager there categorically refused to honor the voucher amount. I logged two complaints with BP helpdesk and received auto response with reference numbers ***6 and ***7. No further communication from BP followed. Frustrating service from BP.
